Coney Island is one of our favorite places to be, it’s been since before we had kids, we would still go whenever we could, even if just to walk on the boardwalk in the winter. Right now though we look forward to Friday nights where they have fireworks at 9:30. We try to go more this year — last year the subway station was closed. If you look in the link where the original copy of the photo is, you will also see photos of the interior of the Stillwell Avenue train station. The exterior is still far from finished, at least in my eyes.)
A good site for information is the homepage of Coney Island USA. They are the non profit repsonsible for the Coney Island Museum, the Mermaid Parade, Sideshows by the Seashore, and also are involved in other events. If you haven’t been to Coney Island lately, GO. And if you are coming to NYC for a visit, get out of Manhattan for a day, and check out Coney Island. You won’t be disappointed!
